We live in an age where chemicals are used all around us, each and every day. When transported, used, and stored correctly they pose little or no danger. However, increasing incidents with great threat to human life, have forced firefighters to prepare for "Haz-Mat" incidents. The Dryden Fire Service has several members who have received specialized training to deal with incidents involving hazardous materials. The Hazardous Materials Response Team is equipped with a wide array of specialized equipment to identify, monitor, contain and stabilize a spill or leak. |
