Recreation Strategic Plan – Overview
The City of Dryden’s Community Strategic Plan 2007 – 2010 commits the City to creating and delivering a Strategic Plan for Recreation and Leisure for the Recreation Department. This is the first formal strategic plan that has been developed for the Recreation Department.
The Strategic Plan is to provide a clear and focused direction for all Recreation Department staff which identifies areas for development and growth and streamlines operations. It will also act as a tool to obtain support from the community which builds a positive relationship with all of the partners and provides staff and community ownership.
The Recreation Department has defined Recreation and Leisure opportunities as a combination of physical and non-physical activities that a person chooses to do in his or her spare time to improve their quality of life, health and well being.
The City of Dryden has many partners that it works with to provide recreation and leisure opportunities. The Recreation Department defines Partners as any individual and or group involved with the City of Dryden Recreation Department.
We are working towards:
A Cohesive Recreation Department Team --> Improving Team Communications --> Creating & Maintaining Consistency through Policies & Procedures
