UPDATED - Media Release -City of Dryden awarded Housing-Enabling Core Servicing (HECS) & Housing-Enabling Water Systems (HEWSF) funding
DRYDEN, ON – January 28, 2025
Yesterday, after announcing our funding from HECS in the amount of $2.1 million, city staff received even more good news. The city’s application for HEWSF was also approved for an additional $3 million!
We want to thank Minister Surma from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Minister Rickford for working closely with the city to make this $5.1 million in funding a reality. We are deeply grateful to the ministers for their support and collaboration.
These funding announcements mean work to extend infrastructure from Lakeside Drive to Van Horne Landing, as well as down Claybanks Road, can begin. The city aims to start the below and above ground work through the next two years. Our development goal for this area is to increase multi-residential housing options and commercial opportunities. The vision also includes enhancements to the trails and public waterfront areas. These improvements will not only elevate the quality of life for residents but also foster economic growth and address our community’s housing needs.
