Public Notice re: A. Berrey Withdrawal of Nomination |
On September 12, 2022, Ms. Anne Berrey officially notified the Returning Officer, Allyson J. Euler, that she is no longer campaigning for the office of Councillor for the City of Dryden. The Municipal Elections Act only allows for the withdrawing of a nomination after Nomination Day, August 19, 2022, if the candidate dies or becomes ineligible. In these two (2) events, candidate names can be removed from the ballot if ballots have not been processed. Ms. Berrey’s nomination unfortunately cannot be legally withdrawn from this election and her name cannot be removed from the ballot at this time. The City of Dryden will be issuing reminders of the status of Ms. Berrey’s withdrawing her nomination to eligible voters throughout the campaign period and at any established voting place up until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 24, 2022.
