INTERNET/TELEPHONE VOTING
Electors in the City of Dryden will be using Internet and Telephone Voting. Voter Information Letters detailing the voting process and containing your unique PIN will be mailed out in late September or early October. Voting will begin on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and will end on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
VOTERS’ LIST
Every elector on the Voters’ List will receive a Voter Information Letter. To be added, deleted or to make any corrections to the information on the Voters’ List, visit City Hall at 30 Van Horne Ave.
NOMINATION PERIOD (CANDIDATE REGISTRATION)
Nomination Papers for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections may be filed in person or by an agent with the Returning Officer/City Clerk from Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Clerk’s Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (excluding weekends and holidays) to Thursday, August 18, 2022 and on Nomination Day, Friday, August 19, 2022 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Please call City Clerk, Allyson Euler, at (807)223-1432 to make an appointment to receive a Candidate’s Package and/or to file your Nomination Papers.
Each nomination for Mayor or Councillor must be accompanied by at least 25 signatures of endorsement. An individual providing an endorsement must be a Canadian citizen, aged 18 or older and having a qualifying address in the municipality. An individual may endorse more than one person seeking nomination.
The required fee to accompany Nomination Papers for a member of Council or School Board Trustee is $100.00 and the required fee for Mayor is $200.00. This fee shall be paid by cash, certified cheque, money order or debit made payable to the City of Dryden. Nomination Papers must be certified by the Returning Officer/City Clerk before such person becomes a candidate for office. A Nomination Paper must be filed prior to accepting campaign contributions or incurring expenses.
You are entitled to be an elector and to run for office if you are not disqualified by any Act or Law and on Voting Day you are or will be:
- a resident of the City of Dryden; or
- a non resident who is an owner or tenant of land in the City or the spouse of or same sex partner of such an owner or tenant;
- a Canadian citizen;
- at least 18 years of age; and
- not otherwise prohibited from voting.
