The Dryden and District Museum looks forward to welcoming back school groups for educational programs when it is safe to do. In the meantime, the museum would like to introduce educational kits available for teachers to rent.
These kits offer hands-on learning using artifacts, archival material, activities, and discussion questions. Each kit includes a Teacher's Resource Guide. The worksheets included in the kits are available in English and French.
Kits can be rented for $15 per week. Schools with a Museum Membership will receive 20% off.
The museum currently has two kits available:
- Indigenous Cultures (Grade 1-3)
- Settlers in Dryden: 1896 to 1940 (Grade 1-3)
We will continue to develop kits with different themes for different grades, based on the curriculum.
Gloves included in the kits will be washed before and after use. Cases will be quarantined for 72 hours after they are returned.
To book your kit please email the museum or call 807-223-4671.
To accommodate remote learning, the museum is able to provide digital education kits based on the theme of the featured exhibit or the permanent exhibits. These kits will include a PowerPoint Presentation including photographs used in the exhibit, activities, and discussion questions designed for different grade levels. The digital education kits can be purchased for $10.
