Indigenous Veterans Day

Honouring all who served

November 8 is National Indigenous Veterans Day. A day to recognize the significant contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis veterans to Canada’s military service.

The monument pictured is the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument in Ottawa. It stands as a tribute to Indigenous men and women who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Its symbolism reflects honour, duty, balance and harmony, recognizing both the pursuit of peace and the sacrifices made in service.
