Curbside Pickup
Public Notices
Please help keep curbside garbage collection safe and on schedule. We are finding unacceptable items in regular garbage, including materials that are not permitted for curbside pickup. Only household garbage prepared according to By-law No. 2564-98 will be collected.
Please note that oil, brush or yard waste, grass, pet feces, ashes, broken furniture or appliances, and tires are not accepted in curbside collection. Waste that does not meet the by-law requirements may be rejected.
If you have items that are not accepted through curbside pickup, or if you missed your collection day, they can be taken to the Highway 502 Landfill Site. Alternatively, Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for September 19, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please also remember that glass needs to be properly packaged when included in curbside pickup, and medical sharps must NEVER be disposed of the garbage. Medical sharps are objects that can cut skin and come in contact with bodily fluids, such as hypodermic needles, syringes, EpiPens or lancets. To properly dispose of medical sharps:
- Take back used sharps to a local pharmacy, free of charge.
- Sharps must be returned in an approved sharps container. Containers are distributed free of charge at local pharmacies.
- Visit HealthSteward.ca to find a participating pharmacy.
