Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation

Effective as of August 8th, 2026, Dryden Fire Service has achieved "Superior Tanker Shuttle Service" for alternative water supply for public fire protection.

The Superior Tanker Shuttle Service test forms part of the Fire Underwriters Survey rating for the municipality, which is used to determine fire insurance rates.  Achievement of the Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation generally provides for hydrant-protected insurance ratings for areas of the municipality not equipped with fire hydrants

This accreditation now applies to single-family residential properties in the rural areas within eight (8) kilometres by road of fire station #2 in Dryden.

Many insurance companies recognize the Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation, which significantly reduces annual fire insurance premiums.   

As a result of this accreditation by Dryden Fire Service:

• City of Dryden residents who own detached dwellings within 8 kilometres by road of a fire station and within 5 kilometres of an approved water supply may be eligible to receive a cost reduction in their fire insurance rates from insurers in Canada.
• Rural property owners are encouraged to contact their insurance agent to ask if their insurance company offers a rate reduction. Please print this document and take it to your insurer.
