About the Dryden Airport

Located approximately 10km Northeast of the City of Dryden, the Dryden Regional Airport is situated just off the Trans Canada Highway at the midpoint between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay in the heart of Northwestern Ontario.  The Airport serves as a hub for air passenger travel and medical air transport services.  It’s also home to Provincial Helicopters, Expedition Helicopters, MAG Aerospace, Northern Youth Programs, Wilson’s Business Solutions, Hydro One, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s Fire Management Headquarters.  The Dryden Regional Airport is owned by the City of Dryden and operated by the Loomex group, a leading aerospace management and operations firm.

Our Facility

A certified facility, the Airport meets the requirements of TP312E for a Code 3C Non-precision Runway for runway 12-30 and has a total land area of 238 hectares. The Airport has one paved 5,993 foot primary runway 12-30 with ILS capability and an air terminal building providing some 1100 square meters of space.

Our History

The Dryden Regional Airport was built in partnership with the Town of Dryden and Transport Canada. The Airport opened July 1969. On January 31, 1996, the full ownership of the Airport transferred from Transport Canada to the Corporation of the City of Dryden.
