Safety

At the Dryden Regional Airport, we're committed to ensuring and maintaining your safety and a safe environment for all users including the public, visitors, contractors, tenants, and employees. The Airport, through the introduction of a Safety Management System and Policy, has established a comprehensive process for managing airside safety risks in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

Report a Safety Risk

Please complete our SMS Safety form to report a potential safety risk in confidence or anonymously. We encourage you to report any real or perceived safety risks as this is vital to the success of our Safety Management System.

We also encourage you to provide contact information so that we can gain added information if needed and provide feedback and progress reports.

Non-Punitive Reporting Policy

The Dryden Regional Airport encourages the uninhibited reporting of all incidents, occurrences, hazardous conditions, and safety concerns that may compromise safe airport operations.  The names of those who report safety hazards at the airport will remain confidential if a reporter so wishes.  No disciplinary action will be taken against any person reporting a safety hazard or concern; however, this non-punitive policy does not apply for instances involving illegal acts, gross negligence, and deliberate or willful disregard for promulgated regulations or procedures.

Transport Canada Acts and Regulations

Transport Canada governs the safety and regulations of all Airports and Aerodromes through various parts of legislation. Check out the following acts and regulations to see what rules apply:

Transport Canada Airport Zoning Regulations (AZRs) restrict the height of buildings, structures and objects (including natural growth, such as trees) on regulated land. AZRs also apply to off-airport land. Transport Canada has enacted AZRs for the Dryden Airport. For more information refer to the Dryden Airport Zoning Regulations.

Drone Safety

Transport Canada is regularly updating rules and regulations regarding the safe operation of drones. Operators are responsible for knowing the rules.

Review the Transport Canada Drone Safety page for more information.

Report a drone incident

You can report a drone incident if you see a violation of Transport Canada's drone rules and any risk to your safety, security or privacy.

UAV Site Selection Tool

The UAV Site Selection Tool allows you to select sites for using your drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that are safely away from aerodromes and built-up areas.
